Just a quick note... errr... two notes. Dog's Life written by Ludvik Ashkenazi is recommended for reading. The stories are so weepy, I was nearly crying while reading. Illustrations were made by Tim Yarzhombeck and it's a lucky accident I bought the book last week and next week Tim'll open an exhibition of his paintings in MARS gallery.
Once bought some greaseproof paper for baking fish with fennel and muffins. As it turned out the paper was useless for baking - sticks to anything during the heating. I mean anything: fish, lemon, fennel, muffins and even to itself. Disaster! So I had to buy a new one that doesn't stick and think about how to utilize the lame roll. Turned out it's good for collages: a bit yellowish, transparent and nice to the touch. Viola!

Not much happening, really. It's nearly summer and it's so short you have to enjoy it right here and now otherwise it will slip through your fingers.
Found a lot of new books at Pangloss book shop the other day. It's a pity they don't serve coffee. Could stay there forever.
I always wanted to get out of 2d world into 3d. The problem is I love 2d for its flatness and restrained methods of work. Moreover nearly all those thoroughly painted realistic pictures driving me mad. Being inspired by Mogu Takahashi and Lili Scratchy, I made my own step out into 3d world. It's still kinda flat and I used very limited palette. Have to admit I like 3d if it's going this direction. It's a pity I can't do porcelain, but I'll figure something out. At least we have papier-mache! I wonder can I sketch with its help?
This year Magic Saw exhibition is lovely. They made some kind of sculptures out of the book characters. If you're in Moscow, you should go there asap.
Right after we've checked an ordinary bookshop nearby and had to admit the choice is much better now. We're still far behind Europe for example and it's a long way to go, but it's nice to see something that you'd actually enjoy flicking through.
Numbered owls on my balcony. It's good to have some good weather finally. I can finish them with varnish outside - no need to smell it during the summer!
It's the only one old-style, photographic process photo booth in Moscow and probably the whole Russia. Ways much more fun than the digital one! You can try to track it down in your country.
Met Henning Wagenbreth on the opening of Kommissia festival. Need to buy one of his books today. The picture he was drawing was inspired by Moscow subway. They have a button you need to push in case if you want tell something to the engine driver.

Some time ago guys from The Gutenberg's Quarterly offered me to participate. It's a black and white magazine focused on illustration and illustrators, showing their ways of life, studios, workspaces, pets, meals, and, of course, their work.
They've decided to feature my matreshka dolls. The fun thing is it's the colorful set put in black and white magazine! I'm proud to be at the same issue with Mar Hernandez aka Malota. They've sent me a copy of the magazine. So good to hold it!
